We've just heard that we've been awarded Catalyst funding from the Arts Council so will soon be sitting down with our partners - Theatre Hullabaloo, Northumberland Theatre Company, Theatre Sans Frontieres and Unfolding Theatre - to plan for the three year project. In the longer term we hope we will have created a resource of fundraising research and skills that can be accessed by artists across the north east.
We're also trying to find out what online resources we can offer that would be of the most use to you; we've created a short questionnaire and it would be brilliant if you could spend just ten minutes (possibly less) completing it. More information to the right.
Every now and again, when we can raise the money to do it, we hold training and networking events that we hope will meet specific, practical needs. In the past we’ve run The Truth About Funding and The Truth about Touring where we invited different panels of experts to come and share their professional experience and answer questions. You can find transcripts of these sessions by clicking on the links above.
“I found the conference fulfilling in a professional sense and also very informative. More things like this need to happen in the region so people with little knowledge in the chosen conference fields can learn from the best and eventually use their experiences to teach the next generation of artists.” ANTHONY LO-GIUDICE, DANCER
We also bring some of the most exciting and innovative companies into the region to give north east artists the chance of a sneak preview of work that normally only tours internationally or stays in London.
At the moment, aside from our Devoted & Disgruntled programme we aren’t running any training or networking events.
