Artist bursary scheme

The Empty Space and Live Theatre have just selected two exciting artists as recipients of the 2012 New Writing Bursary: Bob Karper and Alistair McDowell.

Bob Karper's new show - Black River Falls - is about survival about how families can break apart and come together again, about taking decisions and accepting the consequences, about love, madness, boats, hardship, intercultural marriage, coffeepots and strong women.

Alistair McDowell brings us Captain Amazing - an alcoholic superhero with a penchant for open mic spots. Refusing to lie low and fit in with the rest of the population, he vents his disdain for the human race whilst entertaining and appalling audiences with tales of his day-to-day life as a reluctant and misanthropic superhero.

Black River Falls is on at Live Theatre on Saturday 10th March, and Captain Amazing is on Friday 16th March - be great if you could make one (or both!) of them. For more information on both these shows, and to book tickets, click here.
